Hussey, who's known for his out-of-the-box relationship solutions on TikTok, says asking yourself what you can do every day to add value to your partner's life can work wonders for your relationship. We know it sounds a bit cheesy, but the question in itself has a deeper meaning than you can think of.

While appearing on “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show,” Hussey explained what he meant when he posed that question. As per the dating coach, you can't answer the question keeping your own comfort in mind. For example, you can't say since you like something or find it easy, you'll do it for your partner. You need to put yourself in your partner's shoes and then think about what can be beneficial for him/her.

He added that the whole point here is to have empathy. To understand each other's feelings and what your significant other needs at the moment. Hussey continued that if any couple can hit that mark and reach a point where speaking about problems isn't always necessary, they can have a long-lasting relationship.

The Importance of Empathy

Indeed it is! Hussey isn't the only one preaching about empathy. Psychology Today, an organization that makes people aware of the myths and realities of human behavior, says empathizing creates happiness in a relationship. When you think twice before taking any step and question yourself, "what impact would this have on my partner?" you end up choosing a path that works for the both of you. It shows that the relationship includes two equally caring people and that both of them are investing similar amounts of time and effort into nurturing the bond.
