Ever wondered why people say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Well, one look at these 45 photos, and you'll understand why. It's not all seedy either, with some people getting up to so many shenanigans that they wouldn't want anyone to see it for fear of being ridiculed.
There is also a sense of charm and humor about the place that is endearing, and if you want to escape reality, this is where you'll do it. From Elvis Impersonators to Hollywood lookalikes, Disney Characters, and even the Mario Brothers, here's why you should add Las Vegas to your bucket list.
Gambling Is Hard Work

Is that her poker face? If yes, she is bluffing her way rich. She doesn't even have to look at her cards. But jokes aside, gambling can take a lot out of people, especially on the poker table, which takes a lot of mental fortitude and focus.
Of course, there is more than one way to win at poker. Sometimes it's the luck of the deal that gives you a great hand; other times, a good bluff can make your opponents think you have a good hand and makes them drop out of the game. That's where a poker face like this can work wonders.
Now That's What You Call A Tower

When they said everything is excessive in Las Vegas, they were not kidding. The lights are bright, the buildings are enormous, and the food is extravagant. There is even a restaurant where they sell unhealthy food and tell you about it. This place is called the Heart Attack Grill.
It used to be located in Chandler, Arizona but found a home in Las Vegas. The foods are all high in calories and could give someone a heart attack if they overeat. There is also a burger in the picture, which may be made up to eight hamburgers tall. How do you bite that thing?
Been There, Done That, Got The Tattoo

Some people come to gamble, others come to the party, and some even come for a bit of both. But one thing everyone always leaves with is one memorable experience. Some even get a tattoo to remember it by, as if it will be the last time they end up going to Las Vegas.
Some people will live to regret those tattoos. This is especially true when they are done while drunk and bad ideas are impulsively etched into the skin. They also often happen while on trips to vegas. In 2022 a story dropped about a woman and her guy friends who got hopelessly drunk and got crazy tattoos.
Meeting The Actual Hangover Guy

Back in the '60s, the film Viva Las Vegas told a love story using Las Vegas as a backdrop. But this wasn't an entirely accurate portrayal of this city. Instead, you'll find one of those in the 2009 classic film "The Hangover." This story is about drink, drugs, and debauchery on the eve of a man's wedding was the success story of the year.
It also spawned two sequels, and an actor whose star rose exponentially thanks to these films is Zach Galifianakis. Since that star started shining, a Galifianakis lookalike has popped up and reportedly makes about $250k annually posing for photos with people in Las Vegas. He became so popular he was cast as a body double in The Hangover 3.
You Can't Leave Your Hat On

Only the brave would dare wear these hats out on the Vegas strip. Well, at least the woman will get lots of drinks, although the guys buying them will get a return on investment. The guy will probably receive regular chuckles and maybe the odd look of wonder.
Of course, this doesn't have to happen on the strip; it can happen right inside Dicks Last Resort, the restaurant in Vegas where everyone gets a hat with something snide or derogatory written on it. This means that other people are also wearing hats, so these two are not alone t be made fun of.
The Hangover Reality Show

This looks like a scene from another installment of "The Hangover" film series. But for real, four guys spooning on the very top floor of a Vegas hotel can only mean one thing… these guys had a little too much to drink. They'll all be suffering from hangovers in the morning, then.
But something doesn't add up here. The second guy from the left is still holding onto his drink. This is impossible since all muscles relax when people fall asleep, meaning the arm is supposed to be around friend number one. These are likely just a bunch of friends posing for a Vegas pic.
How To Win At Slots

Ask any gambler anywhere in the world, and they will tell you the same thing: There is a strategy to winning on the slots. Nope, it's not that lucky jersey or rabbit's foot on your key chain, but a bonafide method to the madness that is gambling. What is that method to life-changing wealth?
The answer is waiting for the machine to warm up. Smart gamblers believe that after a while of not giving any winnings, the machine starts giving combinations that do. The goal is to wait for a sore loser to leave a machine, then pounce while it is hot. Just don't tilt it like in the picture.
The Most Fun Taxi On The Strip

Las Vegas is one hell of a wild place. This is why so many men have their bachelor's party there for one wild night out. This is also why the old saying exists: What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Clearly, this taxi driver doesn't mind some wild things happening in his vehicle.
The driver has laid down the law with this sign, and the consensus is that there is lawlessness in this cab. A few questionable things are being allowed here, though. One example is: how is one supposed to run around in this cab? Is it the size of a bus or something?
Sasquatch Is The Winner Every Time

As mentioned before, poker is a game that has many methods of winning. One of those is bluffing to win. The most crucial factor in achieving this is maintaining an expression that gives nothing away. Wearing a suit like this is probably the best way to keep a poker face.
But going to this length is a bit over the top. Jim Carrey was noted for being grumpy after spending hours getting his makeup done for "The Grinch." Rebecca Romijn spent hours having her entire body done in prosthetics and body paint to play mystique in X-Men. This is why poker players prefer a hat and sunglasses.
Let's Not Go There

This is why some countries have made it illegal for alcohol brands to advertise their products. In some countries like South Africa, these brands can't even sponsor events or sports teams, and these products rely on word of mouth and bars and clubs to spread the news about their services.
But that isn't as raw a deal as you think. That's because when you see careless advertising like in the picture, you understand why authorities have taken such a hard line. This may be Vegas, but that doesn't mean people should be careless or think they're solving problems by drinking away their sorrows.
There's The Bride!

One of the biggest fears any bridesmaid has is losing the bride. But this is for bachelorette parties, and by the time she's wearing her frock, those worries should be over because it's the wedding day. Still, this woman's friends aren't taking any chances and are staying close by, just in case she gets any ideas.
Maybe she wants to let lose by playing some slots before her big day. This is what getting married in Vegas is about, right? This is something people from around the world do, ad there are options from a shotgun wedding at a ready-made chapel or an extravagant full-on ceremony.
Where I Lay My Head Is Home

This is what happens when you're the friend who goes to bed first. Most friends would shave off an eyebrow or paint their faces. But no, this band of brothers decided to go to the extreme and carried their sleeping friend down to the slot with his bed and everything.
Of course, what helps with this is that most casinos in Vegas have a hotel attached to them, meaning this group of friends didn't have to carry him far. Caesar's Palace is probably the most popular hotel in Vegas, with visitors from all over the world flying in to do their Vegas vacation there.
Balloon Hat Vegas Style

If ever you want a balloon hat suitable for an adult, Vegas is the place to go. The street vendors there make balloon hats to look like a pole dancer at a gentleman's club. This is among many other more grown-up designs and is probably one of the coolest souvenirs ever.
By the time he gets home, that balloon will be deflated and look like a limp biscuit. At least there is this photo to remember it by, as well as the chuffed look on his partner's face. She looks like she was either very proud of him and his hat or just really having a laugh at his expense.
Watch Out For The Bag Snatcher

Besides being the world's gambling capital and one of the best places to have a wild old time, las Vegas is also home to many performers. Some include people in suits, lookalikes, and major performers with residencies at high-end venues. Then there are those of the animal kind.
This is a Capuchin monkey who is highly intelligent and is often used in films because of its performance ability. But they are also renowned for being kleptomaniacs and are often attracted to shiny objects. Sometimes they are even trained to identify expensive items and snatch anything they can without being detected.
Proving How Crazy You Can Be

Going to Vegas for your bachelor's party is always a great idea. You can get up to an enormous amount of shenanigans, and absolutely everything stays in Vegas, just like the old saying goes. However, no one can be blamed if a photo or two from the trip manages to slip out into public circles.
Like this photo of a dude dressed like a bachelorette walking up and down the Vegas strip. This is a common practice for men around the world, with the groom dressing up like a woman and making a point of interacting with anyone who passes by.
The Picture of Excessiveness

From "The Hangover" film series to "Hot Tub Time Machine," these are films that showcase the consequences of excess that can come from a wild night out in Las Vegas. The result s usually a picture like the one above. A group of guys so hungover they can't stay awake, and even coffee doesn't work.
It's, of course, doubtful that these guys lost a groom or time traveled. But they do look like they've had a good time, and although this picture looks a little posed, we understand the message they are trying to send. Here's hoping the coffee kicks in for them.
This Aint A Song For The Sober Hearted

Bon Jovi may have had their heyday in the '80s. But in the early '00s, they became relevant again with their smash hit song "It's My Life." This was thanks to its theme about living life by your own rules and doing things your way, which resonated with the youth of the era.
The person who got this tattoo must have been from that era of youth. That's because he didn't get the tattoo until drunk and in Vegas. How do we know he is drunk? Well, no self-respecting Bon Jovi fan would allow the artist to misspell the band's name.
Couldn't Pass Up This Opportunity

No matter what your original reason is for coming to Las Vegas, gambling will be on the menu of things to do while there. The thing about gambling is that time flies while you're doing it, and before you know it, you're passing out in front of the slot machine after hours of playing.
This is assuming you have enough cash. Of course, some machines take change, which is great for playing longer on minimal funds, although your winnings, whatever they are, won't be substantial. The largest sum ever won on a slot machine was $39.7 million at the Excalibur Casino.
The Lesson? Be Nice To The Ladies!

You know in the movies when a woman is walking down the street and the guy's cat calls her as she's walking? Yeah, women never liked that. In modern times, with the spotlight heavily focused on gender-based violence and women being objectified, some establishments have tried to do some good for the cause.
This is something The Hilton hotel in Las Vegas did, putting up wallpaper in the men's rooms of women objectifying men. The goal with this wallpaper is to put the shoe on the other foot and make men realize just how badly the women they put on the spot feel when they do it.
Minnie's Having A Bad Day

One of the biggest lessons a person needs to learn about being in Vegas is that no two nights are the same. Of course, the Jaeger bombs always taste the same, but we're talking about luck in the casino. One day you can be on a high and win at everything you play.
You could be on a low the next day and not win a single game. This Minnie Mouse appeared to be having one of the latter and maybe even had a little too much to drink. This could also be a prank played on a guy who passed out first.
All Will Be Forgiven

They do not call it Sin City for nothing, and after being there, quite a few people may feel they need some salvation. Not to worry, the pastor at the Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon has an offer these sinners are bound to like. He is giving them an opportunity to have their sins forgiven.
Or at least he did when he was still active. But he has retired, and it's unclear whether anyone has ever picked up the torch and continued the pastor's good work. It's also worth noting that there is no Mt Vernon Baptist Church in Vegas.
This Guy Again

Whatever enthusiasm this guy had for his bachelor's party trick at the beginning of his night has all but fizzled away. Of course, an act like this can get stale after a couple of hours, and anyone would be disappointed if the real fun of Vegas is being forsaken for a stupid gimmick.
This guy is probably already up for hitting the clubs, or the slots, or maybe even seeing a show. Come to think of it; if it's a show he wants to see, he can just go as he is; we are pretty sure they would easily let him in.
Too Hungover To Care

When you're in Vegas, there are plenty of ways to get a hangover. There is, of course, the classic alcohol hangover which occurs when someone has too much to drink. Then there is the less commonly known but equally potent gambling hangover. Anyone who has been to Vegas may have experienced this.
There is no direct cure for the latter hangover; the only thing someone can do is control their gambling or not gamble at all. Alternatively, for the former hangover, greasy food has been known to work for it, although research has shown that having that meal before you drink is a better solution.
Some Things Follow You Home After All

People come to Vegas with friends instead of family because of the adage of "what happens in Vegas Stays In Vegas." Friends keep secrets from the family you left behind, although it would b a good idea to keep them in the good books of your friends because an angry friend is prone to have a big mouth.
Another thing that has a big mouth is an STD. So if you ever intend to have a little extramarital action between gambling and drinking, ensure you're using protection. You should also visit the site in the picture to learn about STDs and how to prevent them.
This Is Not A Vegas Thing

Las Vegas has many quirks. But coffee shop staff spelling your name wrong is not one of them. There is another brand even more famous for this happening all the time. That brand is the iconic coffee house Starbucks. This quirk has become so common that it has even been featured in films and TV series.
Sometimes the staff that works there ask what the correct spelling is so they can get it wrong for sure. But there is a skill to this because the name cannot be spelled wrong, like Court Knee on this cup. There were other options, like Kourtney.
It's A Little Late For That Grandma

In the early '00s, there was a trend called planking. People would have photos of themselves taken while lying face down in a prone position on various surfaces. These surfaces often were not floors and became more and more extreme as the trend became more popular. People started planking in some bizarre places.
Like this grandma attempting a plank on top of that slot machine. Maybe she hit the jackpot and decided to plank in celebration. The planking position became so extreme that people ended up doing it on ledges, cliff edges, the kitchen counter, and the top of walls.
Viva Las Vegas

Ever since Elvis Presley starred in the film "Viva Las Vegas," he has been forever linked to Sin City. But his legacy goes beyond him being in the movie, and these days Vegas is renowned for having Elvis impersonators that perform wedding rites in a chapel. In fact, this is an attraction people come to the city for.
This could be because of the film's romantic theme or the fact that The King got married there. The company that owns the rights to the Elvis brand filed a cease and desist motion against companies using his likeness for their weddings. So Elvis's weddings could become obsolete.
Saving Sin City

With a nickname like Sin City, it's no wonder many people think Las Vegas needs saving. It wouldn't be surprising to find people picketing with posters about the seediness of the place. But posters can't save Vegas, but Batman can. However, he can't be having coffee with the bad guys though.
It seems these guys are in cosplay, and this isn't uncommon since Las Vegas hosts an array of comic book conventions annually. Some of the most notable ones include Lvl Up Expo, Fanboy Expo Las Vegas Convention, and Silver Age Comic-Con. These guys fit right in with the other costume performers here.
After A Hard Day's Work

Mario Bros is a game where a guy runs around looking for a princess while collecting coins and jumping over things along the way. You'll find plenty of that in Sin City, which is probably why these guys made their way to Las Vegas. They're killing three birds with one stone here.
Sure, it's not like they're the real Mario brothers, but they're probably some of those expo attendees chilling out after a hard day in cosplay. They're also still after coins and princesses, although the latter is perhaps the most important to them. Mario Bros. also has some themed attractions in the city.
It Literally Is What It Is

What you are looking at in the photo is a nightstand. There's nothing fancy about it, and it's doing its job pretty well too. It also includes a lighter, pack of cigarettes a good book to read, and a human head. That's right, that is, in actual fact, a human head.
This is a costume, and the attention to detail is impressive. Of course, a little sensual innuendo is also thrown into it, and it all comes together to create a great costume. Who knows, maybe this guy does get lucky. This is the palace to do it, after all.
Now That Is Some Big Hair

At some point, you have to ask the question: Are these his actual strands, or is he just wearing a wig? However, we'll never find out because this guy is the only person we could ask. But if this is his real hair, then he deserves massive cred for the patience he showed to get this done to his hair.
One person who also gained fame for having a giant mohawk is Jacob Bertrand. He plays Hawk in the hit Netflix series "Cobra Kai" and says it takes roughly an hour to craft his character's standard spiky mohawk. Good hair takes time.
She Can't Be That Old

We've already mentioned Dicks Last Resort, a famous bar and restaurant in Vegas, where patrons walk away with two things: A white hat with something witty written on the front of it or a Vegas-sized hangover. This grandma seems sensible enough not to get hammered, so she is probably leaving with a hat though.
Someone appears to have a sense of humor and knows some good grandma jokes because this is a pretty good one. Grandma needs to watch out for any religious extremists protesting on the Vegas strip; they won't take kindly to her saying Jesus went to her prom.
We Love It When A Plan Comes Together

Las Vegas may be a place to party and gamble for many people, but for others, it's an excellent opportunity to get married or even propose to your significant other. You can plan something pretty special by doing this in Vegas; just look at how this guy's proposal came together splendidly.
He has it all figured out and even managed to get a celebrity involved too. He ended up at one of Britney Spears' product launches, organized for his lady love to meet her, and then, with a photographer in tow, got down on one knee to propose, with Spears in the shot. Only in Vegas, baby.
Passing Out

We've already discovered that there are two types of a hangover, and the best remedy for one of these is to eat a healthy fatty meal before going on a bender. This means that the greasiness is already in your body before you put alcohol into it and is ready to fight off the drunkenness and hangover that is still to come.
Just don't pass out from eating all that greasy food. There is also such a thing as a food hangover. This typically happens when someone overeats or eats something they usually wouldn't. Some of the symptoms include fatigue, low energy, and sluggishness.
Lady With The Roulette Dress On

Why is there a portable roulette table at an event in Las Vegas when you can find one at any of the casinos in the city? This may be convenient, but if you consider that hiring a venue with tables could have been more practical and given this young woman more fulfilling things to do.
This doesn't mean roulette isn't to play. This game is derived from a Roman one called Biribi and gets its name from a French word meaning little wheel. Now it's famous for being a popular game where you bet on numbers before the wheel spun and a ball is placed on it.
A Selfie As We Arrive

Las Vegas goes by many other names. Besides Sin City, there is also the capital city of fun and most popularly the City of Lights. Many cities in the world also go by that last name, the most notable of which is Paris. But Las Vegas is literally what it says on the box.
Everything is displayed using lights, even the sign that welcomes people to the city. Vegas is also the brightest city in the world and can be seen from space. These girls chose this as the background for their selfies; it's pretty impressive, but did they have to pout the same way?
This Is A Vegas Thing Too

Mechanical bulls and bull riding, in general, are activities linked with the state of Texas. But this isn't just some fad event with a mechanical bull; Las Vegas has several establishments that offer this experience. Some of these venues include Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Que, and PBR Rock Bar & Grill.
It's important to remember that mechanical bull riding is still a dangerous sport and can cause some severe injuries. The most common of these are head injuries, with concussions making up 10% of the injuries and 28% were facial injuries. Joints were also regularly, the most common of these being shoulder and knee.
Living It Up

While some come to Las Vegas hoping to hit the jackpot, others just come because they want a good time. It appears that this guy falls in the latter category and looks like he is living that Vegas glamor life to the fullest.
Everything he does seems to be like a party, even taking a bubble bath. He has the TV remote, a glass of wine, and the breathtaking Sin City skyline out of the window. Vegas is also known as the shiniest place on earth, and this guy is bound to be polished when he gets out of that bath.
Now That's How You Get It On

In Vegas, you can elope and get married. You can pick up a woman during your visit, head to a chapel, and tie the knot. While the latter is extreme and not a good idea, if you tie the knot in Vegas, you'll need a place to consummate the marriage.
It may seem a little over the top, but with a mirror on the ceiling and the back of the headboard, this room is set up to offer one of the most sensual, intimate experiences. These kinds of rooms can be found all over the city and are not just for marriage purposes.
Will Perform For Food

People come from far and wide to visit Las Vegas. But it's not all glam in Sin City; there is not only a seedy underbelly, but people often overdo it, and many end up stranded in vegas because they spent all of their money and have nothing left for food or gas.
Some people go to great lengths to sustain themselves when things are looking down. Like this guy who is performing a plank on the counter. The staffer there is clearly enjoying this, although he'll have to break it to this guy that they can't give him a free meal.
We Only Do Pet Friendly

Some people just can't leave their pets behind. Although many options are available to ensure the fur baby gets all of its needs seen to while they are away, indeed, many people can't leave their dogs behind. Luckily for them, some establishments are pet friendly, making it easier to bring four legs along.
Some of the establishments are well-known and include Caesars Palace, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Harrahs, Flamingo, Bally's, Rio, and The Quad. So whether you just care too much about them, need them around as an accessory, or consider them lucky, know that in Vegas, your dogs are welcome.
We Just Can't Get Out

One thing you can guarantee about Las Vegas is that things will get excessive. Things can get so bad that by the time you have to leave, you could be too drained to muster up the energy to get on your plane home. Like this group of visitors who just had to lay down for a bit.
This could also result from delayed or canceled flights, which could lead to backlogs in the schedule and leave people at the airport much longer than expected. This was the case in 2022, when staff shortages led to flight delays that saw several flights canceled.
Desperate Times

If this guy did not know about this before he had to make this sign, he most definitely knows it now… Winners know when to quit. He probably went a little overboard with the partying and gambling, maxing out their funds and leaving them stranded and far from home with no money.
That's a pretty brave sign he's made too, and we wonder if he honored anyone who took him up on the offer. Here's hoping they're not from too far away; otherwise, it's going to take a good couple of kicks before these two have enough money to get home.
I Just Don't Care Right Now

Sometimes, things can get so wild in Las Vegas that by the time you get back to your room, you pretty much just drop into your bed and fall asleep without changing into sleep attire or anything else. You don't even care if there was anything on the bed, or if it was even your bed at all.
Don't even start with the morning after, when all you want to do is get some coffee. So you get up and get to the nearest coffee shop for your fix without changing or checking that you look a little decent. Hence Why this woman has her underwear on her back.
The Other Reason Vegas Is Great

Yeah, we know. We've made Las Vegas all about gambling, parties, and generally doing things that should stay in Vegas. But there is another reason that Sin City is a really great place to visit: many great artists have residencies and perform every evening for months on end.
Vegas is renowned for having some iconic performers, including Elvis Presley and "Mr. Las Vegas" himself, Wayne Newton. In 2022 alone, Silk Sonic, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Santana, and a Whitney Houston hologram have all played residencies there. The person in the photo is probably here to see the Blue Man Group perform.
