Truly A Magical Place: Photos Of Interesting Things That Happen Only At Amusement Parks Will Make Anyone's Day

Heather Jackson

Fantasia's Charm

These days, a trip to Disneyland wouldn't be complete without an Insta-worthy snap with a scenic background. This lady did that and probably amazed onlookers with her ethereal beauty. She is obviously a big fan of Mickey Mouse; we can tell from her headband and her light accessory.

The marquee reminds us of "Fantasia," which was Walt Disney's attempt at combining animation and classical music. The result is the most extended animated feature that first used stereophonic sound. According to Mental Floss, the founder also wanted the grand concert to be experienced in 4D because he tried to stimulate the audience's senses.

Is That Cinderella's Castle?

Surely, this snap earned tons of likes on social media, what with this woman blending perfectly into her background. She donned a Minnie Mouse ear, which is most probably what's not on theme with the rest of the details in the snap. Speaking about the finer things, it's hard not to see Cinderella's castle behind this gorgeous girl.

This is the main attraction for two Disney parks, Tokyo and Walt Disney World. According to Disney World, the castle stands 189 feet and is one of the breathtaking views in the park. The facade aside, guests will also be delighted to see Princess Cinderella's story through glass mosaics.

Anytime Is Pretzel Time

This woman, who looks like the younger version of "Knocked Up" star Katherine Heigl, must love pretzels so much that she got two huge Mickey Mouse-shaped ones. We wonder if she could finish them all in one sitting. We hope she dipped them in the sauce that came with the order.

Another thing to anticipate in Disney parks is the snacks that are creatively made to fit the theme. According to Disney Rewards, the culinary team behind these food work at a facility called Flavor Lab. As per Ed Wronski, Director of Culinary Development, Mickey snacks must be perfected to get the right shape.

The 'Star Wars' Magic

We're not entirely sure if this beautiful woman was kicked out of the premises after she was seen by marshalls wearing this revealing top. As we've said, Disneyland is very strict about upholding its family-friendly image, and anything that could jeopardize this is dealt with accordingly.

After a closer look at her background, we can see the massively breathtaking "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" attraction whether a fan of the sci-fi franchise or not, exploring the Millennium Falcon is worth a try. According to Mental Floss, it took a six-year development before this attraction finally opened to the public in 2019.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

What is more fun than going to Disneyland? Enjoying it with friends. These three ladies must have been so excited to experience the theme park that they donned matching outfits. They also chose to stylize with Minnie Mouse ears, perhaps so they can blend in with the mascots.

Minnie Mouse first appeared in the 1928 show "Steam Boat Willie." She belongs to the Fab Five. Many people love Mickey Mouse's girlfriend for her friendliness and kindness toward others. She is also praised for her sartorial clothing choices, so it was not surprising that she was seated front and center at the 2017 New York Fashion Week.

The Much-Awaited Family Reunion

One of the most ill-tempered Disney characters is Donald Duck, who first appeared in the movie "Silly Symphonies" in 1934. According to Disney Fanatic, illustrators credited for creating the beloved duck include Carl Banks, Don Rosa, and Al Taliaferro. Apart from his temperament, his voice makes him unique, which Walt Disney thought of after hearing Clarence Charles Nash.

While Donald is constantly mad and irritated, here we see him reunite with his long-lost family; perhaps, he missed them so much that he begged for a hug! However, given his size and color, these ducks must have been terrified to be chased after a mammoth bird.

Disneyland Is Probably Not The Happiest Place

Is Disneyland really the happiest place on earth as it claims to be? Well, this photo begs to differ. Just take a look at the woman in a tank top, who seemed to be the only rider who didn't find this thrilling attraction exciting! Known as the Angry Splash Mountain Lady, her real name is Jordan Alexander, who became an internet sensation overnight because of this snap.

Why the mad face? Jordan revealed that her husband, Steven Alexander, promised her that they would ride Splash Mountain together, but he backed out just before they got there. So she thought it would be hilarious to make a face for the camera.

Here's How You Do It, Son

Apart from Woody, many people love Buzz Lightyear in the "Toy Story" franchise, so it wasn't shocking when it got its own live-action spin-off movie that starred Chris Evans as the lead character. This child went to great lengths to be able to meet his idol in his costume, which almost made us wonder who's the real deal.

According to ScreenRant, the character wasn't supposed to be called Buzz Lightyear. His initial name was Lunar Larry, but the team eventually settled with the new moniker that astronaut Buzz Aldrin inspired. Tim Allen and Patrick Warburton were some actors who lent their voices to the role.

Having The Time Of Her Life

Unlike the angry lady by Splash Mountain, this woman was all smiles when she came to Disneyland. Perhaps it was her first time to see the theme park, or she was just ecstatic to have spent her free time wisely at the place. Nonetheless, her facial expression mirrors that of children who giddily see every attraction.

According to DisneyNews, there were over 43 million guests in Disney parks in 2020 alone, which was a whopping 70-percent decrease from 2019's 152 million. On average, there were 3 million visitors per month and 119K per day at the attraction park in 2020.

Everyone's Excited For Toy Story Toyland

Just like many other park enthusiasts, this girl seemed too excited to experience this attraction. While her outfit for the day will probably get her thousands of likes on Instagram, it is worth noting that she might not be accommodated on some of the rides due to her attire.

Note that Disneyland is very particular when it comes to its dress code. It is very stern about maintaining its family-friendly image, so much so that it wouldn't decline service to people who may be wearing inappropriate attire. According to its website, dressing for comfort is encouraged, but pieces like torn clothing may cause a guest to be refused admission.

Not The Experience He Was Looking For

This father made his son named Clark's wish come true when they decided to go to the rollercoaster at the theme park. After all, the little one felt he was a big boy when he said he wanted to try the ride. Unfortunately, it is safe to say that the first drop changed this young man's mind about rushing into adulthood.

Let's hope that Clark didn't develop a phobia of roller coasters, which is quite common. According to Very Well Mind, this ride is designed to stimulate the part of our brains that makes us scared, a sensation that we almost feel when visiting haunted houses.

Good Boy Meets Another Good Boy

Mickey Mouse can always rely on his greatest pal, Pluto. The beloved canine first appeared in the 1930 short "The Chain Gang" alongside the main character, and Walt Disney was so pleased he decided to make it a regular part of the gang. According to D23, the loyal buddy also faced an identity crisis because he once appeared as Rover, Minnie Mouse's pet.

Today, we regard Pluto as one of the good boys in Mickey Mouse's club. So naturally, when another furbaby appears at the park, it would be fitting for him to greet them, too. Just take a look at how the two dogs seem to instantly click.

Trust Fall Over This Beast

What sort of contraption is this thing? Located at Zero Gravity Thrill Amusement Park in Dallas, Texas, this attraction consists of big nets and a series of steel bars. This attraction is aptly called "Nothing But Net." It puts a guest at the top of a 16-story tower before they are made to jump without a parachute or straps.

While it sounds unsafe, the company claimed that it has a release system that ensures that visitors "fall into the low center of gravity position." The 130-foot drop is certainly not for the faint-hearted. Unfortunately, people looking to try this out had missed the opportunity.

Even Doug The Pug Loves Disneyland

Even Doug the Pug loves Disneyland so much that he couldn't help but take an adorable snap in the Happiest Place on Earth. We especially adore his costume with a hood to resemble the iconic Mickey Mouse's ears. However, people wishing to bring their pets inside the premises must know that the theme park has rules about this.

Service animals, or those trained to help people with disabilities and other ailments, are the only ones allowed inside, but there's a kennel site for the other pets at the site. This is for their safety because certain rides may be too dangerous for them.

When The Soul Leaves The Body

Las Vegas, Nevada, may be where the excitement is for people looking to bet or lose their money, but judging from this image, we can tell that it's also the place to lose one's soul. Found in Stratosphere Casino Tower, Big Shot, one of the four rides available, is a vertical launch where guests are dropped 160 feet from the ground!

It's hard to believe that it is safe, but there are a lot of people who have tried and survived the Big Shot. It is safe to say that these four friends wouldn't want to return to the extreme attraction soon.

Real-Life Claw Machine?

At first glance, this ride from Las Vegas' Stratosphere Casino Tower looks like a mammoth claw machine. We wonder what this robotic arm could get from the ground. However, this extreme attraction stretches over 60 feet above the Skypod's edge and takes guests to at least 860 feet.

That's not all; according to the Vegas.com website, visitors rotate at 70 degrees up to 40 miles per hour! It might be challenging to focus on the breathtaking views above, but if one ever needs to chill and experience high altitude, this is the perfect place. Interestingly, children of any height above 52 inches can all experience this crazy ride.

Where's the Attraction?

It's pretty normal to see guests taking photos in every nook of the theme parks; after all, it doesn't happen if there's no picture, right? However, we're confused as to what this woman wanted to accomplish with this snap. We couldn't see any attraction behind her, and there was no scenic background either.

She might be taking advantage of the golden hour, thanks to the sunset that gave everybody a youthful glow. According to MickeyVisit, the best places in Disneyland to take photos are Sleeping Beauty's Castle, King Arthur Carousel and Jingles, Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and Pixar Pier Skyline.

Kingdom Of Animals Is Popular For Another Reason

The Animal Kingdom park at Walt Disney World Resort is a jam-packed attraction on its own. Maharajah Jungle Trek, Flights of Wonder, Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, and Na'vi River Journey, are just some of the worthwhile attractions there. As the DisneyFanatic website pointed out, a guest must need at least half a day to cover and enjoy everything.

Unfortunately, this park has become famous for the wrong reason. Many visitors take remembrance photos with the signage to create vulgar impressions. Still, we hope this doesn't discount the fact that inside is a pot of educational scenery for the younger visitors.

Want To Swap Kids?

If this sign confused you, fret not, there are other visitors who couldn't understand how this is possible in a family-oriented place. According to Disneyland, this service is formally called Rider Switch. Whenever guests, typically kids, don't meet the ride requirement, such as height, they can wait with another visitor, who then can swap with the person after a ride without waiting in line!

Height requirement is very important for the safety of the customers. The staff is not tolerant when it comes to this matter. Usually, cast members measure people that they deem not tall enough at the entrance to avoid them from wasting their time queueing.

Not The Swing You Would Have In Mind

The Orlando StarFlyer said to be about 450 feet high, is claimed to be the tallest swing ride. Definitely for the more adventurous souls, it rotates guests for up to 45 miles per hour, and quite surprisingly, there's no age and weight limit, but there's a height requirement. According to its website, the concept came about in 2012, just as when another unit was placed next to the London Eye.

The Red Bull logo designer created the StarFlyer's top decoration in Austria by using a napkin. From this country, the company shipped the parts in 28 shipping containers to the United States.

Gaston Needs To Up His Game

In "Beauty and the Beast," Gaston fails to charm Belle despite his dashing looks and toned physique. She fell for Beast despite his brash attitude and even helped him become human again. Unfortunately, the antagonist also ran out of luck in Disneyland because he couldn't impress other girls as well.

As we can see in this photo, this beautiful lady in white seemed to be irritated at Gaston. In the 1991 animated movie, Richard White voiced the character, but Rupert Everett auditioned for the part. The latter actor eventually bagged the role of the handsome Prince Charming in the "Shrek 2" film.

Dogs or Mice?

We're quite confused: are these dogs or mice? Kidding aside, these service dogs were behaving properly and even posed side by side. They also looked adorable with their Mickey Mouse ears; are they auditioning to become the next Pluto, Goofy, or Mortimer Mouse?

Unlike Mickey's pet Pluto, Goofy is an anthropomorphic animal that belongs to the Fab Five. He is incredibly tall and is very popular for his distinct voice. It might be hard to believe, but his first name was Dippy Dawg before he became George Geef. In the story, Goofy remains to be the only character to have a son named Max.

Never Doing This Again

Does anyone ever remember the first time they rode a rollercoaster? This child seemed like she had seen a ghost just as her coach dropped. We’d love to be photographed as these spooky rides go through their creepy twists. We’re sure we look just like this kid here. She looks scared; why not? These rides are enough to scare the bravest of brave hearts out there.

If a child is reluctant and scared to death to ride the rollercoaster, it is best not to force them. According to the TampaBay website, bribing and comparing them to other children will not make the little ones braver to do this.

Father Of The Year Award Goes To ...

It would be a delight to see this father-daughter duo killing it in a theme park with their Ariel and King Triton costume, which leads us to say that this man deserves the "Father of the Year Award." What would have been an embarrassing moment turned out to be a precious time between a parent and a child?

Even the internet couldn't help but praise the dad for going to great lengths for his child. The tear-jerking moment racked up millions of views online, and this special bond between them is forever immortalized. The 1989 animated Disney movie earned two Oscar Awards.

An Incredibly Interesting Ride

This woman probably didn't get the memo about what to wear in theme parks because any wrong movement could end in an awkward situation. Focusing on the ride, this is called the Incredoaster at Disney's California Adventure Park in Anaheim. The steel roller coaster is the third longest of its kind in the world, measuring 6,072 feet.

This would be an excellent experience for fans of "The Incredibles," the Pixar movie based on the creator's real life, sans the superpowers. Apart from the Parr family, one of the most unforgettable characters to have come out of the animated film is Edna Mode, who was also voiced by the creator.

Are We Friends Or Foe?

For some reason, little kids are very fascinated with anything to do with "Jurassic Park," even though the image of a dinosaur is usually terrifying. Take this child, for instance, who seemed to be frightened by the creature from behind. Located in the Islands of Adventure in Universal Studios in Orlando, this is a must-see for fans of the franchise.

One of the best attractions is the Raptor Encounter, where visitors can approach a raptor and take a photo with it. This park is, of course, based on the 1993 Stephen Spielberg creation that earned a whopping $900 million at the box office.

Passing Out Soon

Although guests should wear comfy clothes when going to theme parks, they should also be mindful of how they could suffer wardrobe malfunctions while having fun. It is safe to say that this woman regretted her decision to wear a plunging sleeveless top for the Sling Shot.

As for the guy, it seems that he was going to pass out when this image was captured. Some people usually pass out on rides like this, which happens when the heart rate and blood pressure drop, resulting in limited blood flow in the brain. This also sometimes occurs when riding a roller coaster.

Mickey Mouse Is In Another Dimension

On its own, there's nothing with this Mickey Mouse sweater. But the manufacturer didn't probably think much about how it would look if worn in various ways. Take this lady, for example; she made it appear that the character lost its head!

That is a shame, considering that Mickey Mouse is a legend. His first word was "Hotdog" in the 1929 short 'The Karnival Kid." Although he previously screamed and made sounds, this was the first time the character uttered a complete word. Walt Disney thought of the concept after he and his partner fought and lost the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Are You Serious, Ma'am?

Despite the seemingly effortless snaps we see on social media, the harsh truth is that it's challenging to snap a decent photo in Disney parks because of the numerous guests. This pair experienced this first-hand when trying to take a picture when this lady in blue accidentally photobombed them.

As we can see from the duo's facial expressions, they were irritated about the ordeal, whereas the woman in front seemed to have recognized her mistake mid-way. This was reminiscent of the man who photobombed a couple; the guy was proposing to his girlfriend, so the culprit became known as "In The Way Guy."

That Was Extreme!

The 1992 animated movie "Aladdin" is an award-winning Disney movie that remains timeless and much-loved to this day. As such, it wasn't surprising that the studio released a live-action remake in 2019 that starred Naomi Scott, Will Smith, Mena Massoud, and Marwan Kenzari.

So naturally, guests will stumble upon attractions that are after the said movie. These guys must have been big fans of "Aladdin," so they took advantage of the Magic Carpet that lets out smoke. According to DisneyLists, an attraction that permanently opened in 2001 specifically for this Agrabah theme is called "Magic Carpets of Aladdin" and can be found in Adventureland.

Minnie Mouse's Worst Nightmare

As Mickey Mouse's better half, his death would be Minnie Mouse's biggest fear. So when she saw this guy wearing a shirt with the print "deadmau5" to mean "dead mouse," she couldn't help but cover her eyes. We hope this guy told the lady that his outfit was referring to a DJ of that name.

Canadian DJ and electronic music producer deadmau5's real name is Joel Zimmerman, who adopted the screen name after he found a dead mouse in his computer. The number 5 and the "mau" in the moniker were a result of character limitation. Zimmerman's said to be one of the highest-paid in his field.

Those Aren't Simple Posts

This unassuming attraction at Daytona Beach doesn't seem to be scary from afar. However, this machine catapults customers 360 feet above the ground, and as if this wasn't enough, this happens in a span of a few seconds because it reaches 0 to 100 miles per hour in just two seconds.

Just a fair warning: there have been a few deaths in this type of ride. In 2022, a Missouri student fatally fell during the descent of Orlando FreeFall, prompting a call for a permanent ban on this machine. Investigation showed seat harness sensors were loosened to accommodate the victim's weight.

Who Twerks Better?

Although many people think that Disney star Miley Cyrus began the twerking trend, it is linked to a certain Shawn Hatfield, who used this as his stage DJ name. However, a lot of people think that the dance craze began with Donald Duck, as seen in this photo.

Now, we don't know if this woman was trying to show guests that she's a great dancer, but she probably received an earful from the management. To be fair, Donald loves to show his dance moves. According to D23, he tried his hand (or palmate) at dancing in the 1937 episode "Hawaiian Holiday."

You're In My Way, Little Girl!

It was a bad day for this girl and this bird because they both got hurt during this incident. According to The Sun newspaper, this child named Paige was having fun with her uncle on the roller coaster at Warner Bros. Movie World when she collided with this flying creature.

Worse, the coach she was in was running at around 70 miles per hour, so it's hard to imagine how impactful this incident was. Despite the dramatic video circulating on the internet, Paige found this experience rather funny. It was said that she had feathers on her shirt as well as a scratch on her right shoulder.
